Watercolor Pencils Vintage Tag

Hello friends! I hope you are well! Today I have a vintage tag to share colored, with a combination of Distress Watercolor Pencils and Ink.

Layers of ink - Watercolor Crayon Vintage Tag by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I wanted to use this sweet collage stamp from Tim Holtz The Girls stamp set, together with some sentiments, gems and pretty ribbons.

Stamp Tim Holtz The Girls on a tag.

Start by stamping the image from The Girls on a heavystock tag, using Jet Black Archival Ink.

Color with Distress Watercolor Crayons.

Color the image with Distress Watercolor Pencils. Dip the pencil in water and pick up the pigment with a paint brush.

Ink with Distress Ink.

Stamp around the design with different grunge and texture stamps. Distress the edges and tie the tag with some pretty ribbons and twine.

Add Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

I also splattered the tag with a dark pencil by flicking a paint brush against the tip of the pencil. The gems are Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Dusk and Bubblegum Gems.

Add Tim Holtz Clippings Stickers.

I added stamped sentiment and Clippings Stickers to the tag.

I have found some of my old ribbons and fibers and it is fun to use them on projects.

Thankful Tag

Hello crafters! It is a new week and I hope you had a good weekend and got some crafty time.

Please note: this post has affiliate links, for which I receive a small percentage of sales generated by the link, at no extra cost to you.

This week we have a Thanks/Thanksgiving theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us! Our guest designer Teresa York has created a lovely project, don't miss it.

Layers of ink - Thankful Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I made a tag this week, with a background made from Simon Says Stamp sentiment strips, stamped flowers colored with pencils, gems for sparkle and gold letters. I like to cover an entire background with words and there are many different ways to do that. You can also use stamps or old book paper.

Glue the sentiment strips to the background.

I used a Gratitude sentiment strip sheet from the new Simon Says Stamp Festive Fun release. Cut one of the pages into strips and then cut apart the individual sentiments. I cut off some of the words too, since I needed shorter sentiments. Glue them to a tag cut from watercolor paper. Add a layer of Matte Medium on top too. Let dry.

Paint with Distress Paint.

Paint with watered-down Distress Paint and mist with more water if needed. Wipe some of the paint off from the words.

Stamp Tim Holtz Floristry on heavystock paper.

Die cut with the coordinating dies.

I used the coordinating Floristry dies by Simon Says Stamp to die cut most of the larger flowers and some of the smaller ones.

Color with Prismacolor pencils.

Color with colored pencils. I used Prismacolors. Use a white pencil to blend the colors.

Shape the colored flowers.

Add details with a black pen and highlights with a white gel pen. Then give the flowers some shape with Tim Holtz Shaping Kit. Place the flowers on Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Perfect Craft Pad when using the stylus tools.

Add Simon Says Stamp Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs.

Die cut Simon Says Stamp Pointy Pine Needle Sprigs from green and Pine Glitter cardstock. Tuck the pine needles under the flowers.

Adhere the flowers with foam tape. I used two layers for some of them.

Don't worry if the strips aren't completely straight and even. In fact, you can make then uneven on purpose, for a playful look. The paint will collect in the recessed areas.

Die cut thankful from gold paper with Tim Holtz Vault Seasonal Sketch.

The sentiment was die cut from gold and dark brown kraft-stock paper, using Tim Holtz Vault Seasonal Sketch set. I also added Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Gems here and there.

Skull Mixed Media Tag

Hello crafters! I hope you are well and had a good weekend.

Please note: this post has affiliate links, for which I receive a small percentage of sales generated by the link, at no extra cost to you.

This week Stencil it is our theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will make something for the challenge. Also, remember to look at the gorgeous project by our October guest designer Alison Bomber.

Layers of ink - Skull Mixed Media Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I made a skull tag with easy mixed media techniques and a bunch of products by Tim Holtz. The skull comes from the Halloween Collage Paper set and fit well on the tag, making the skull look large since it covers the tag.

Apply the skull design paper to the tag.

Start with a tag that has been coated with gesso. Apply the collage paper with Ranger's matte medium. Then add a couple of coats of clear gesso on top, letting it dry in between. The gesso will give tooth for the Distress Watercolor Pencils to adhere to.

Apply texture paste through Tim Holtz Skull stencil.

Add a little Uncharted Mariner paint to Texture Paste and apply through Tim's Batground folder.

Color with Distress Watercolor pencils.

When the paste is dry, paint the background with Distress Watercolor Crayons. Use water to blend.

Add glitter with Ranger Stickles gel.

Stamp with Simon Says Stamp Crackle background.

Stamp in a few places with Simon Says Stamp Crackle Background.

Die cut bats from Simon Says Stamp black glitter cardstock.

Die cut a moon and coat with Ranger Glow Grit paste.

Die cut the moon from Vault Wicked from heavystock paper and coat with Ranger's Glow Grit Paste. The moon glows in the dark, which is pretty cool. I inked the edges slightly so that it wouldn't look quite as bright on the background. For an example of how the Glow Grit Paste looks in the dark check out my Beware Pumpkins and Witches' Brew tutorials.

Add idea-ology Halloween stickers as sentiments.

Pick a bunch of sentiments from the idea-ology Halloween Sticker Book.

Add Simon Says Stamp Gunmetal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

I also added Simon Says Stamp Gunmetal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

Sand the edges of the sentiment strips.

There is a bit of dyed mummy cloth under the sentiment from Halloween Baseboards and also tied to the top of the tag. The sentiment was cut into two and the edges were sanded. I also added a Halloween Quote Flair.

Spooky House Tag

Hi crafters! I hope you are well and that you got some crafty time this weekend. Time flies, we are already way more than half-way into October.

Please note: this post has affiliate links, for which I receive a small percentage of sales generated by the link, at no extra cost to you.

This week we have a Something spooky/Add a little purple theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us! Our October guest designer Alison Bomber has created a really great project for the theme, don't miss it.

Layers of ink - Spooky House Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I made a tag featuring Elmira and her spooky house and cat. The background is Tim Holtz collage paper and as colored with Distress Watercolor pencils. I also used som purple for Elmira herself. Lots of fun little details here. You can easily turn the tag into a card instead if you rather make cards.

Layers of ink - Spooky House Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson. Die cut with Tim Holtz Wicked Vault.

Start by die cutting the pieces from heavystock paper using Tim's Vault Wicked set.

Color with Distress Ink.

Smear Distress Inks on a non-stick craft sheet and mist with water. Press the papers into the ink. Let dry and then repeat until you are happy with the look.

Layers of ink - Spooky House Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson. Adhere Tim Holtz Halloween Collage Paper.

Coat a tag with gesso and when dry, adhere a sheet of Tim Holtz Halloween Collage paper with matte medium. Coat with clear gesso to give tooth to the background, making it easy to watercolor with pencils.

Color with Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils.

Watercolor the background with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I prefer to use a paint brush, especially on a project like this, which has small details.

Add details and highlights with black pens and a white gel pen. Add shape to the pumpkin with Tim Holtz Shaping Tool Kit.

Die cut bats from glittery cardstock.

I die cut bats from Simon Says Stamp Black Glitter Cardstock and glued to the sky.

Add idea-ology sentiments.

Add sentiments from the idea-ology Halloween Sticker Book.

The cat was die cut once more from black glitter cardstock and her eyes from Lemon glitter cardstock.

I also added a bunch of Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Rainbow Gems. I like how the rainbow gems change color depending on how the light is falling.

Add rainbow pawsitively dazzling gems.

I added a black die cut behind Elmira so that she would stand out better from the background.
