Pumpkin Patch Art Journal

Hello stampers! Today I have an art journal page to share, filled with pumpkins. You can also turn it into a card.

I really like this Simon Says Stamp Pumpkin to Talk About stamp and wanted it in an art journal. Here I worked in my Stamperia Mixed Media Happiness journal 4x8.5 in. The pumpkins were watercolored and I die cut a large title also from watercolored paper. The title spells 'FALL' in Swedish. 

Start by stamping Simon Says Stamp Pumpkin to Talk About with Archival Ink.

Watercolor the pumpkins with green, orange, purple and a little pink. I used Daniel Smith watercolors. I painted the bottom part purple, but later changed my mind.

When dry, splatter with Winsor & Newton Permanent White Gouache.

I had a left-over piece of pink watercolored paper and die cut a scalloped edge with Tim Holtz Vault Edges.

White emboss dots with Tim Holtz Tiny Texture.

I pained two pieces of watercolor paper in an ombre fashion and die cut Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Bulletin letters. 

A few Clippings Stickers serves as sentiments.

Pumpkins are fun to color. 

You can also test making them all the same color, but in different shades.

Leave some of the white showing for highlights.

I really like the Bulletin letters and they have a lot of punch and surface.

Blackcurrant Jam art journal

Hi friends! I hope you had a fun weekend! School has started. It is starting to get chillier and darker in the evenings.

At the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have an Lots of Layers theme this week. I love adding layers to my projects, layers in all forms. Don't miss the stunning project by our August guest designer Cassie Lynch!

If I can get hold of blackcurrants, I always try to make blackcurrant jam and enjoy it with my breakfast cereal. It is a bit of summer that lasts into autumn and maybe even winter. This year I picked lots of blackcurrants and have more jam than most years. The page was done in my Small Creative Journal.

The background is from my recent gel printing session. Here I used papers embossed in Simon Says Stamp Stitching Sampler and Star Lattice. I liked the warm feeling of both the patterns, the colors and the distressing and thought it fit well with the theme.

Stamp the berries from Paper Artsy Fodder Berry Edition. I masked out the name of the plant when inking since these aren't really blackcurrants. They had to do as blackcurrants for this project.

Color with pencils. I used Prismacolors. 

Add white highlights with a gel pen.

Sponge Salvaged Patina through Simon Says Stamp Bubbles stencil.

Next add som marks with Walnut Stain and Tim Holtz Speckles.

For a little shimmer, mist Distress Spritz Antique Linen through Tim Holtz Sparkle Fade.

I thought the berries were too blue and added more of a currant shade to them. 

Stamp Tim Holtz School Desk alphabet here and there.

Stamp Tim Holtz Flower Jar on Simon Says Stamp Acetate with Stazon ink.

Color on the back with alcohol ink. Later, I added more currant.

The colors of the berries and the way they hang from the branches aren't quite correct, but that doesn't matter. I didn't want to make them as dark as they are in real life since I wanted to use several colors and shades.

This sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Be Your Beautiful Self.

I dotted the jars with a Q-tip and blending solution to get the dotted look.

The title was die cut from Simon Says Stamp black cardstock using Tim Holtz Vault World Travel.

I like that the jar comes in two sizes. Here you can also see the shimmer from the Distress Spritz layer.

Summer was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Chill Vibes. 

Pencils work well on background gel printed with acrylic paint.

Smile Layout

Hello friends! Today I have a scrapbooking layout to share, with stitching and patterned paper.

I wanted to use a mix of Tim Holtz Palette paper, and in particular the collage papers with all the small details. All I added was some ephemera, die cut butterflies, a title and some stamped sentiments. I used an old childhood photo.

I started by cutting out pieces from the collage papers in various Palette Paper 8x8 in sets, picking designs that I liked, or that fit the theme.

Arrange them on a background paper, distress the edges and then stitch around the design with both straight and zigzag stitches.

The background is kraft paper and I added more Palette paper, distressed the edges and stitched another frame.

I really like Tim Holtz Sizzix Alphanumeric Bulletin letters and die cut the title from another pieces of palette paper and from Simon Says Stamp Rainforest cardstock.

Butterflies were die cut from more patterned paper with Simon Says Stamp Bright Butterflies. The bodies come from Simon Says Stamp Flourish Butterfly Trio.

I used ephemera from 49 and Market Faded Memory Lane ephemera and chipboard sets and sanded the edges slightly.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Be Your Beautiful Self. The camera is from 49 and Market Travel Diaries and the flowers from Faded Memory Lane Laser Wild Flowers.

Glue the title and add lace trim underneath as a border.

This sentiment also comes from Simon Says Stamp Be Your Beautiful Self. 

A few more flowers and a butterfly.
