Furry Friends Tag

Hello friends! I hope you had a good weekend! We had beautiful snow, but it is now melting into slush.

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have a Furry Friends theme. I hope you will join us and don't miss the project by our January guest designer Estelle Palumbo aka Atouscrap.

We had two miniature Schnauzers when I was a teenager and they inspired today's project. I challenged myself to stick mainly to Distress Ink on this project, in difference to when I used this Simon Says Stamp Lil' Critters Schnauzer die the last time and colored it with watercolors. You can find that card and tutorial here.

Start by die cutting the Lil' Critters Schnauzer from heavystock paper. Ink with Distress Ink. I used a torn printer paper as a mask for the front legs.

Add more ink and then use a white gel pen to add some white elements and to add highlights to the eyes and nose. The gel pen looks a bit messy close up like this.

Use the Simon Says Stamp Polka Hearts stencil to add hearts to the sky and dots to the grass.

Add a little texture with the Simon Says Stamp Crackle Background and Old Letter Background stamps.

Stamp labels from Simon Says Stamp Mixed Labels on the background and stamp sentiments inside the labels.

I have always been fond of this old notched ticket look.

I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Etched Delicate Frond twice from left-over inky paper in similar color as the background. The mummy cloth was dyed with Distress Ink. I also added some sequins.

I hope you will join us this week in our Furry Friends theme. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
