Vintage Road Trip

This week we have a Transport It theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us!! And don't miss the stunning project by our September guest designer Debbie Emmons.

I thought that the new Simon Says Stamp A7 Notched Rectangles, from the STAMPtember® release, look like tickets and decided to make a ticket shaped card. The theme of the card is taking a road trip in a vintage car. Almost everything on the card was stamped.

Start by die cutting a Simon Says Stamp A7 Notched Rectangle from heavystock cardstock. I really like this die cutting set. 

I also die cut the smallest rectangle. Smear Distress Ink on a non-stick craft sheet and mist with water. Press the paper into the ink. Let dry and repeat.

Stamp one of the Tim Holtz Vintage Autos on the paper.

Add more stamping. I stamped the sentiments with Archival Ink Red Geranium. Turn the small rectangle into a ticket. The sentiment stamps are from: Tiny Text, Curiosity Shop and Road Trip. The compass comes from Tim's Warehouse District and the small stamps are from Correspondence.

Stamp some script with the ledger stamp from Tim Holtz Etcetera and gold emboss the grid pattern from Tim's Ultimate Grunge set.

Die cut A7 Notched Rectangles from gold kraft stock and from red cardstock. Die cut the cardbase by folding the cardstock and placing the cutting edge of the die just above the fold.

Staple the small ticket to the card. I also added some Simon Says Stamp Mini Stars.

I bit of gold embossing folder got stuck to the car. I like stray embossing powder, so I melted it as it was.

Adding a few embossed elements with metallic powders adds a nice finishing touch and an additional texture.

Stamped pumpkins on kraft

This week we are celebrating STAMPtember® at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Our theme is Stamp It! Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products by a specific company, and this week it is of course Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products. You can find the fantastic range of stamps, dies, stencils, inks, embellishments, tools and paper products here. 

You don't have to use Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products to join, but it is fun if you do.

Since it is a new month, we also have a new guest designer joining us and this month Debbie Emmons is joining us. Don't miss checking out Debbie's Instagram account where she has posted her project.

I made a pumpkin card this week, focusing on stamping. I decided to stamp the entire cardfront with pumpkins, acorns and sentiments. I used different colors and inks. The new Simon Says Stamp A7 Notched Rectangles is a great set of 13 rectangles, making it easy to create layers. 

Start by die cutting a Notched Rectangle from kraft cardstock.

Stamp the large pumpkin from Simon Says Stamp Harvest Blessings with Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade and the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Sprout ink. The stem was stamped with Cappuccino ink.

Continue filling the paper with stamps, but leave some space for the sentiments.

Next, I stamped sentiments from Simon Says Stamp To Friendship with black ink.

I die cut two more Notched Rectangles as mats. The cardbase is folded brown cardstock. Place the fold just outside the die when die cutting. 

I also added Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Gold Gems. 

This is such a great sentiment. I used it on my project for the STAMPtember® blog party too.

I really like the look of the Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide on the kraft paper. And the acorns from Simon Says Stamp Harvest Blessings.

Petal Tipped Card

Hello friends! A couple of days ago, the weather changed and I can now feel autumn in the air. I hope you had a good weekend. Lots of much needed rain fell here. It is the last day of August, which also means that STAMPtember® starts tomorrow at Simon Says Stamp. The best stamping month of the year.

It is Monday again and this week we have a Get in Shape theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Use any shape but squares. Fun! Don't miss the last project by our August guest designer Cassie Lynch.

I made a petal tipped card for this week, with fun textures and shimmer. Shaped cards are fun to make! The cardbase and front were die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Petal-Tipped Labels set. I used an embossing folder to great the pattern with the small flowers.

Apply embossing ink to Simon Says Stamp Flower Puff embossing folder. Emboss watercolor paper. Sprinkle white embossing powder on top and return the excess to the jar. Emboss.

Smear Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean on a non-stick craft sheet and mist with water. Press the paper into the ink. Then mist Salty Ocean Distress Spray Stain in a few places and Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz for shine.

Die cut with Simon Says Stamp Petal-Tipped Labels. Fold the cardbase and place the edge of the die just outside the folded edge. 

The second panel was die cut from left-over watercolor paper and misted slightly using the same inks.

Die cut Simon Says Stamp Bright Butterflies from inky or watercolored paper. Die cut the bodies from the Flourish Butterfly Trio from purple glitter cardstock.

The open card looks like this. I will stamp or write a sentiment when I have a recipient for this card. The base is die cut from Simon Says Stamp Mint cardstock.

Fold the wings of the butterflies and glue to the background.

I also added some Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Prism Gems. The Prism gems partly take on the colors of the project, depending on the light.

The background is shimmery, but you can't see all the shimmer in the photos.

Die cut hello from Simon Says Stamp Paper Cut Words Vol. 1, from blue glitter cardstock and from watercolored cardstock. I misted the latter with a little Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz. The sentiment was stamped on the same paper as the butterflies were die cut from, using Simon Says Stamp A Little Artsy and Prize Ribbon Archival Ink.

A shaped card is a fun surprise for the recipient.
