Hello friends! I hope you are well and healthy. Today I have a starry sky background to share with you, combined with fun circle stamping.
At the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have a Remember/Thinking of You theme. Don't miss our November guest designer's beautiful project, at Laura Cassina aka elaborando on instagram.
The canvas had already been coated with gesso. Apply matte texture paste through the new Simon Says Stamp Scattered Stars stencil, from the Holly Jolly release.
When the paste is dry, paint with watered-down Distress Paint and mist with even more water. This will take a while to dry.
When dry, place the stencil back again and apply Ranger's Moon Dust Stickles with a palette knife. Clean the stencil.
Apply a crackle paste around the edges.
Then add a little Ground Espresso to the crackle areas. Splatter the background with Ground Espresso and white gloss spray.
Stamp circles from the SSS Mix and Match Circles set on cream paper. I used the two pinwheels and the double circle. The double circle coordinates perfectly with some of the others, so that you can, for example, stamp the star or dotted circle inside. I used the star one here. I forgot to include the third blue SSS ink that I used on the photo. I used Soft Navy, Winter Sky, Steel Blue and Dark Chocolate.
I also stamped the circle border from Mix and Match Circles, on a left-over paper that I found on my desk.
Lately, I keep reaching from sequins, partly since the SSS sequins sets are within easy reach on my desk and contain such gorgeous colors, but also since they add a really fun element to projects. Here I used the dark blue sequins from the Blue Moon set.
The sentiment comes from the SSS Tabbed Sentiments set. The stars look really nice with the glitter and the paint has pooled around them, which makes it look like a shadow, adding dimension.
Cut the circles and layer them under and on top of the photo. The pinwheels coordinated nicely with the stripes on my outfit.
The crackle paint adds a nice border to the canvas.
The sentiment to the left comes from Laugh in Flowers. Combining and overlapping circles stamped in different shades of the same color gives a great look. For more inspiration on the Mix and Match Circles set, check out my tutorial from this weekend on the Simon Says Stamp Store blog, where I used the stamps to build up a background of layered circles and lots of ink.
I hope you will join us this week in our Remember/Thinking of You Challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until next Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
