Autumn Trees Card

Hi friends! I hope you had a good weekend! I have an autumn themed card for you today.

Nature is so beautiful at this time of the year and I made a card inspired by the orange and cream shades on the mood board, as well as by the bits of rust texture. 

I started out with a piece of heavystock paper which had been inked with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap. Ink the stamps from the Simon Says Stamp All Seasons Tree set with brown and orange shades. Mist with water 3-4 times before stamping.

I used the leafy texture stamps from the same set to stamp fallen leaves on the ground and to add some leaves to the trees. For this I used Oxide inks, which are opaque. Shadows under the trees were created by using mainly brown ink for the stamping there.

Simon Says Stamp You Shine was die cut from orange cardstock, left-over inky heavystock and plain heavystock. 'You' was then embossed with several layers of Ranger's Hammered Mixed Media powder.

Watercolor stamping is perfect for autumn projects.

I splattered a little bit with a Scribble Stick and then mounted the panel on a left-over metallic sheet and a cream folded card.

Additional shine was created with Tim Holtz Mica Flakes which had been colored with alcohol ink.

At the sea mini album

Hello friends! It is October and I have no idea where September disappeared to.

This week we have a Not A Card theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products by a specific designer/company and this week it is Stamperia. You can find their beautiful range of papers, stamps and other products here. You don't have to use their products to join, but it is always fun if you do. 

We also have a new guest designer and this month Lyla aka A Chief’s Wife’s Heart’s A Fire is our guest. Be sure to check out her beautiful blog and the project that she created for you. 

I made an 8x8 in mini album to use with photos and memories from the sea. When we visited South Africa two years ago, we had a lovely time at the sea. My youngest and I saw a couple of humpback whales playing in the sea, which made a very big impression on him, which is why this will be his album. He loves all kinds of sea creatures. 

I used the gorgeous Stamperia Romantic Sea Dream 8x8 in paper pad, and used almost all the papers in the pad.

To complement the Stamperia Romantic Sea Dream collection, I cut watercolor paper into 8x8 sheets. Smear Distress Inks on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press the paper into the ink.

I stamped the background papers with Simon Says Stamp Ledger Paper Background, so that I would have lines for journaling. Here and there they were also stamped with the Crackle Background, using Smoke ink for both.

It is easy to coordinate an entire album by using background stamps. I stamped mainly the Crackle Background, but also, in some places, the Ledger Paper background on the patterned paper, also with Smoke ink.

For the title I used Pink Fresh Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers and grounded them to the cover with a piece of Design Tape. I also stamped a word from Simon Says Stamp Forest Scenery.

The second part of the title was stamped on a banner die cut with Tim Holtz Halloween Vault set.

I stamped sentiment stamps here and there. They almost look like they were a part of the original paper.

I need to develop the photos, and since the album is ready, it will be quick to finish it. My youngest loves killer whales, so that image had to be on the first page. I also added a quote from Simon Says Stamp Document It.

The images in the Romantic Sea Dream collection are so pretty.

The album was bound with Mini Book Rings, alternating patterned paper and watercolor pages.

The Crackle Background stamped with the Smoke ink melts very well into the design.

The watercolor pages are warmer than the patterned papers, but picks up on the some of the shades found in the papers.

Banners were cut from the paper and inked.

The sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Foxglove.

I like the combination of the simple watercolor paper and the busier patterned papers.

A sentiment stamp here and there customizes the pages.

I will add a small photo to this frame later.

Happy World Card Making Day

 Hi everyone! Today is World Card Making Day!

Simon Says Stamp has compiled a video with messages from their designers, from all around the world. I took my tripod and camera and went to the forest to record my video. And I speak some Swedish in it too. :) Don't miss checking out the Simon Says Stamp blog and there is also a chance to win a $100 gift voucher. 

I actually remember the exact moment when I got the brilliant idea to start making cards and instantly knew that I would like it. I was in South Africa studying and didn't really have any craft supplies with me, but badly felt the need to craft. I was at the gym in between sets of doing situps, staring up into the ceiling when the cardmaking idea popped into my head. And that was the start of a whole new and fantastic papercrafting journey, which has also brought me into contact with people from all over the world.

Dry Embossed Metallic Card

Hi stampers! It is the last day of September and the grand finale of STAMPtember® at Simon Says Stamp.

I made a quick and simple card with a metallic copper dry embossed background. It looks very interesting in real life, as light reflects on the embossed surface. I used the Simon Says Stamp Triangle Burst 3-D embossing folder. 

For the background, I adhered Sizzix Rose Gold foil sheet to cardstock and then embossed it in the Triangle Burst folder. This is such a cool and intricate design. The Rose Gold color looks a lot like copper, which is one of my favorite metals.

The houses were left-over from another project and stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Printmaking Houses stamp set.

Start by stamping the solid houses.

The add the roofs and windows in two steps.

Finally stamp the outline. Don't worry if it isn't perfectly aligned since a little off-setting will add to the look.

Adhere the houses with foam tape. Make a 'road' for them with Design Tape, a label sentiment sticker and a piece of twine.

The embossed background was mounted on two shades of teal cardstock.

For even more shine I die cut the Clipping Hearts from Aqua Holographic paper. For another example using the Triangle Burst folder, check out my Foxglove Tag.
