Hello crafters! I hope you had a good weekend. We still have some snow, but hopefully this was the last batch.

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have an Add Texture theme. Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products from a specific designer and this week it is Tonic. You can find Tonic's great range of tools, papers, embossing powder, media and more here. You don't have to use their products to join, but it is always fun if you do.
We also have a new guest designer and during April Ann Chuang will be joining us. Don't miss stopping by her blog to see the lovely project she has created for you.
I made a butterfly tag this week using embossing powder, Crystal Drops, Gilding Flakes and two different surfaces from Tonic.
Start by embossing
Simon Says Stamp Wood Planks with
Tonic Coral Chic Nuvo Embossing Powder.
Add embossing powder on the edges too and then ink with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks.
Brush the excess flakes away and return to the jar.
Remove the tape liner and cover with
silver gilding flakes and remove the excess.
The butterflies were layered and stapled to the tag. Glue the body to hide the staple.
The Tonic vellum is thick and sturdy and could handle the glitter gel without problems.
Don't worry about getting a perfect look with the silver gilding flakes.
I really liked how easy it was to form pearls with the
Crystal Drops.
Add a little cheese cloth under the sentiment and layer the silver word on a white die cut.
I added some drops over one of the sentiments too.
The butterflies have quite a lot of dimension.
I hope you will join us this week in our Stencil It challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
Do you use Instagram? If so please add #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too.
Thank you so much for stopping by here today!
Happy crafting!
