Summer Meadow Card

Hi stampers! Today I will share a technique where you can create a field of flowers using just a humble texture stamp.

We have a Fabulous florals theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog this week. Flowers are one of my favourite things. I hope you will join us in the challenge and don't miss the project by our July guest designer Rox aka Red Dirt Crafter.

During my walks I pass fields of wild flowers, particularly yellow flowers which look so striking together with the green grasses. I wanted to depict that on a card and large flower stamps wouldn't work, since what I was looking for was a field of lots and lots of flowers. I used a texture stamp from Simon Says Stamp All Seasons Tree to stamp the flowers. It was originally meant to create leaves, but works great for flowers too, and for many types of textures.

The first step photo I took was ridiculously blurry, so unfortunately I couldn't include it here. I started by stamping the larger of the two texture stamps from All Seasons Tree with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed and clear embossed it. Always be very careful when using a heat tool and never touch the melted powder until it has cooled down completely. I continued stamping with Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink.

Smear green shades of Distress Ink on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press the paper into the ink.

Let dry, and repeat until you are happy with the look. Finish with a little Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink.

I felt that the card needed some white flowers too and stamped with the texture stamp again here and there and embossed with white powder. Make sure the ink is completely dry before doing this or the white powder will stick everywhere.

I stamped one of the labels from Simon Says Stamp Mixed Labels with Marine Pawsitivily Saturated ink on a piece of heavystock paper which had been inked with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap. Stamp the smaller sentiments on the lines and cut into strips. This sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Laugh In Flowers

Some sentiments were stamped directly on the card. These come from Simon Says Stamp Forest Scenery and Anna's Flowers.

The labels was stamped with Mixed Labels and die cut with the coordinating die. I stamped it with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitivily Saturated Marine ink and didn't ink the stamp carefully since I wanted a worn look. The sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Dandelion Messages.

The flowers look nice close up too and give a great glossy texture to the card.
