Teal Flower Art Journal Page

Hi friends! Today I have a tall art journal page to share using shades of teal and a hint of purple.

Layers of ink - Teal art journal page with watercolor flower, tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I used a combination of watercolor and acrylic paint here. The flowers and leaves were stamped, die cut and watercolored. I really like these tall pages in Stamperia's Happiness Mixed Media journal and the paper is watercolor paper, which is one of my favorite surfaces.

Paint the background with Daniel Smith Cascade Green.

Start by paint the background with Daniel Smith Cascade Green watercolor paint. Such a cool granulating paint.

Add Antique Linen through Simon Says Stamp Mix and Match Circles.

Sponge Antique Linen Distress Paint through the Simon Says Stamp Mix and Match Circles stencil.

Stamp with texture stamps.

Stamp with the text stamps from Tim Holtz French Garden and the texture stamp from Tim's Fragments. The latter was stamped with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.

Stamp Tim Holtz French Garden.

Stamp the flower from French Garden on watercolor paper.

Die cut with Simon Says Stamp French Garden.

Die cut with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp French Garden dies. Let the cutting pad stop just before the stem end of the die, to avoid cutting through.

Extend the stem with a pen.

I did that last step since I wanted a taller stem. Draw it with a black pen.

Paint with watercolors.

Paint with watercolor paint.

Stamp and die cut leaves.

Repeat with the leaf stamp. Add details with a white gel pen and a black pen. Splatter with Winsor & Newton Permanent White Gouache.

I added Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers.

This flower stamp is so pretty.

Add sentiments.

If you make a card or a tag instead, give some shape to the flower and the leaves. I prefer my art journal pages to be fairly flat and didn't do that.

Add details with a white gel pen.

This sentiment comes from Tim's Perspective stamp set. I like how it fits so well on the page. I used a white gel pen to fill in the letters.

Thank you for visiting!

Happy crafting!
