Hi everyone! Today I have a non-Christmas card and a bunch of gift tags to share in between all the winter and Christmas-themed projects using a great stamp by Darkroom Door.

Designs with squares are always fun to do and I decided to use squares combined with Darkroom Door's You Matter Sentiment Strip. The card didn't need a lot of embellishments and I didn't want to cover up too much of the text. The card is about 6x6 in.
Start by white embossing the whole Darkroom Door You Matter on watercolor paper.
Cut into strips and color with different Distress Ink combinations. Smear Distress Inks on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press the paper into the ink.
When dry, repeat until you are happy with the look.
Cut into squares of about 1.6 in (4 cm) and distress the edges.
Adhere to watercolor paper and distress the edges of that paper too. I die cut a word from Simon Says Stamp Aqua Glitter paper using Tim Holtz Celebration Words Script.
The sentiments on the Darkroom Door You Matter sentiment strip are great. You can also cut them a part and use just one of the sentiments. They were for many different card themes.
A Tim Holtz Scribbly Butterfly is fluttering over the card.
I also added some pearls, for a touch of bling.
When I have wrapped a gift, I often lack gift tags and am normally in a hurry. I usually just cut a tag from patterned paper. When I looked at my colorful sentiment strips, I thought they would make great little gift tags and die cut them with Tim Holtz Framed Tags. Don't worry if all the words aren't complete.
