Hello and welcome to my blog! I am happy to take part in the blog party to celebrate the start of STAMPtember® at Simon Says Stamp and their new big exclusive STAMPtember® release.

STAMPtember® is a month-long celebration of stamping at Simon Says Stamp, with inspiration, new products and lots of surprises. You can find the start of the blog part on the Simon Says Stamp Store Blog.

I made a cheerful tag, featuring a whole lot of colorful birds chatting to each other. It was made with the new Printmaking Birds stamp set and coordinating dies, as well as the pretty Sparkling Facets embossing folder. You can easily turn the design into a card or an art journaling page instead.

The Simon Says Stamp printmaking sets are so fun to use and can be used in different ways. You don't have to use all the four stamps, but could, for example, exclude the outline stamp. I decided to use it and started with stamping the outline of the Printmaking Birds.

Next stamp, the main body color of the birds.

And then add a second color for their tummies.

And a third one for the wings and legs.

I had fun playing with color combos. All the stamping was done with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks on Neenah Solar White. I decided to stick with the black outlines for this project and saved the ones stamped in grey ink for later.

Die cut with the coordinating Printmaking Birds dies. I used Simon Says Stamp Very Very Low Tack Tape to keep the dies in place when die cutting.

Ink the inside of the Simon Says Stamp Sparkling Facets folder with Distress Ink. Mist the tag with water on both sides and emboss.

When dry, ink with an ink-blending tool to make the pattern more visible.

Finally, add a little Sizzix Gold Luster Wax around the edges.

The birds were mounted with the STAMPtember® Pawsitively Perfect White Foam Tape.

The birds are such fun to stamp using different color combos.

For the sentiments, I inked a piece of heavystock cardstock with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and stamped the sentiments with Marine Pawsitively Saturated ink. This happens to be one of my favorite sentiments.

Don't worry if you don't get a perfect stamped impression, a bit of overstamping here and there just adds to the fun feel of the birds.

I arranged the birds so that it looks like they are talking to or looking at each other.

The tiny bit of Gold Luster Wax adds interest to the embossing.
