Hi friends! I hope you had a good weekend! It is Monday and we are back with a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I have a fun technique to share for stamping with die cut images.

Our theme this week is 'Die cut'. Lots of options! Don't miss the gorgeous project by our September guest designer Anita Rao aka Beads, Charms and Wire.
During this month, STAMPtember® is celebrated at Simon Says Stamp - a whole month dedicated to stamps and stamping, with so much inspiration and many surprises.
Cut out and shape with Tim's Shaping tool kit.
Die cut the You Shine sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Matte Gold Cardstock and Island Blue cardstock. I added texture to the small word with a needle tool.
I planned to glue some sequins to the background, but realised that I could make shiny gold dots by die cutting the Bubbling die from the Matte Gold Cardstock instead.
Glue the gold dots to the background. They are uneven and match the stamping in the background.
The larger circles form a perfect home for small sentiments.
The sentiment was mounted with foam dots.
Experiment with different dies and colors to see what backgrounds you can come up with.
Some of the leaves were adhered with Simon Says Stamp foam tape.
I hope you will join us this week in our Die Cut challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.

Nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a smart technique because it shows how die cuts can do way more than just become embellishments. Using them as stamping tools is one of those ideas that makes you immediately look at your supplies differently.
ReplyDeleteWhat I really like here is the texture and layering. The gesso, paint, and die cut stamping all work together to give the tag that artsy, built-up look instead of feeling flat or overly polished. It has that creative “played with the materials and found something cool” energy that always makes projects more interesting.
It’s also a great reminder that shape does a lot of heavy lifting in design. Whether it’s in mixed media, cardmaking, or packaging, a strong die cut element instantly adds personality. That’s why custom shaped die cut mylar bags for packaging from https://www.brandmydispo.com/ stand out so much too. Unique shapes make the final piece feel more creative, more intentional, and way more memorable.
Really fun technique though. Definitely one of those ideas that makes you want to go dig through your dies and start experimenting.
