Hi friends! Summer is still here and hopefully for quite a bit longer.

This week we have a fun 'Spritz and Splatter' theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us! Don't miss the project by our August designer Estelle Palumbo. I hope you will visit her blog Atouscrap to see the wonderful project that she has created for you.
I started with the background of this card and then later decided to also use the large Tim Holtz Perspective Butterfly. I used Distress Spray Stains to color both the background and the butterfly. It is a quick way of coloring and great for intricate die cuts.
Again with the stencil in place, mist with homemade glimmer mist. Scoop a little Perfect Pearls into a Mini Mister, add water and shake.
I also added some splatters with a turquoise Scribble Stick. Dip the stick in water and flick a paint brush against it to create splatters. Because of the tone-on-tone colors, the effect is subtle.
Place the stencil back and splatter with white acrylic paint. The paint will pick up color from the ink and when it is dry, the splatters won't show as much as they do on this photo.
Die cut the Perspective Butterfly from watercolor paper. Stamp here and there with Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass and emboss with clear powder.
Mist with Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral Distress Spray Stain. Mist some Black Soot on the non-stick craft sheet, pick up with a paint brush and paint the body.
Add a piece of cheese cloth under the butterfly and glue only the body to the background-
Stamp a label with Simon Says Stamp Mixed Labels and die cut with the coordinating die. It was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Surf ink. Stamp a Tim Holtz Tiny Text sentiment on top.
I also stamped the background here and there with Simon Says Stamp Crackle Background, for a hint of extra texture. Here you can see the distressed effect of the Stained Glass texture on the butterfly.
I hope you will join us this week in our Spritz and Splatter challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
