Hi friends! I hope you are well and had a good weekend. It is Monday and we have a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for you.
This week our theme is 'Things With Wings'. Such a fun theme and lots of options! I hope you will join us. Don't miss the project by our May guest designer Simona Rebecchi aka Ginny and the Sheep.
I started by inking through the Simon Says Stamp Mixed And Match Circles Stencil with Antique Linen and Speckled Egg, on watercolor paper. After inking, I misted very lightly with the same colors in Distress Spray Stains. This gives a soft mottled look.
When the background was dry, I inked up one of the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies set with Stormy Sky, Blueprint Sketch and Ground Espresso. Mist with water about four times and stamp.
Repeat with the other butterflies on the set, using combinations of the same inks. The inky dots in the background gives the illusion of glasswings.
Stamp sentiments on the page. Stamp the background here and there with the Simon Says Stamp Halftone Background stamp, using the same two colors, but as Oxide inks. This background stamp is great for adding texture here and there on a project.
Add splatters with a brown Scribble Stick. Dip in water and flick a paint brush against it.
I stitched around the page and then added just a little bit of Teal Raspberry Opal Blaze Polish.
This sentiment stamp comes from Laugh In Flowers.
This is such a pretty quote, from the Paper Artsy Time Edition set by Alison Bomber.
Here you can see how the background circles gives the illusion of transparent wings.
Another beautiful quote, from the Time Edition set.
These butterfly stamps are great for watercolor stamping. The sentiment comes from the Forest Scenery set.
The Opal Blaze Polish gives a subtle shine to the wings, from some angles and is invisible from other angles.
