Hi friends! I hope you had a good weekend. We had a somewhat rainy weekend, which is part of autumn after all, but today the sun is shining again.
This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge we have a 'Not a card' challenge, so you can make pretty much anything, as long as it is not a card.
I made a Halloween wall-hanger, using a bunch of Tim Holtz idea-ology products. I also had fun making a spooky dimensional stamped skull, and even more fun with pairing up sentiments from the Halloween Clippings sticker set.
The background is a Halloween Baseboard and I mixed Dina Wakley's Medieval paint, which is metallic, into a little embossing paste. It was applied through the Batground stencil. I also used a Halloween Shape Token.
Holes were made with my Crop-a-Dile and I set an eyelet into them. The wallhanger is hanging from black tinsel. I really like the numbers added here and there among the Clippings stickers, and used one here. The edges of the board were also sanded and inked.
It is such fun to mix and match sentiments from the Clippings sets and I thought this combination turned out quite good. It's three separate Clippings sections, but almost looks like they belong together.
I used red Heirloom Roses and dripped Pitch Black alcohol ink into them.
The bottom was punched repeatedly with a Crop-a-dile, and various Halloween embellishments hangs from the holes. It gives a nice heavy feel to the wall-hanger. I added some black paint to the embellishments. There are also two strips of Design Tape and an Industrious sticker.
The skull was stamped on Wendy Vecchi's Clearly for Art Modeling Film with Stazon ink. I colored it with Snow Cap alcohol ink Mixative on the back. It was carefully heated with a heat tool and shaped into a dimensional skull. Be careful not to burn yourself. The film keeps it's shape perfectly. I attached it with staples.
It is hard to capture the dimension of the skull, you might see it a little better here.
I hope you will join us this week in our Not a Card challenge. As always, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
