Hi crafters! I usually make and art journal page at the start of every year, and below you will find this year's page.

I started with this page, which is a page where I first used up left-over paint and then later used left-over texture paste. The page was first coated with gesso. The paint was misted heavily with water. I used Tim Holtz Deco Floral stencil.
Next, I painted the texture paste areas with Daniel Smith Mayan Blue and Lunar Black.
Ink with Mustard Seed and then stamp with Fossilized Amber using Simon Says Stamp Wood Planks stamp.
Die cut a door with the same set and then emboss in Simon Says Stamp Wooden Planks.
Add mica sheets to the back of the windows. These pieces were mica that I found on one of my walks. Ink the edges and cut a simple roof.
The title was die cut with Tim Holtz Emporium Alphanumeric from Simon Says Stamp Mirror Ball holographic cardstock.
I wanted a few more yellow elements and die cut the smallest square from Simon Says Stamp Basic Shapes Squares. They were inked yellow.
I stamped more sentiments on the background and small birds. The sentiment comes from Simon Says Stamp Love Letter and the birds from Through the Window.
To help the title stand out better from the background, I die cut the letters again from black cardstock. Off-set to create a shadow.
I stamped some trees on the background too. These are from Tim Holtz The Great Outdoors and Mini Holidays 2.
I found this peace die cut on my desk, die cut with Simon Says Stamp Simple Peace, from white glitter paper. I thought it fit the page and die cut it one more time from black paper. The sentiment stickers come from Tim Holtz Small Talk.
I die cut peace one more time and placed it under the house, with some cheese cloth.
Daniel Smith Lunar Black is a granulating watercolor paint and gives great texture. I also added Stickles to a few of the stenciled leaves.
I really like this sentiment, from Tim Holtz Words for Thought.
And even more trees, stamped with Archival Jet Black and Cobalt.
The Simon Says Stamp holographic paper works great for these types of titles.
I really enjoy finding fitting sentiments and stamping them here and there on a page.
Thank you so much for visiting today!
Happy crafting!
