Hello Friday! Today I am sharing my version of Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014 April.
I loved the layered look of Tim's tag, from the mottled background to the Frameworks and roses. You might already know that I love the new Sizzix Frameworks dies, and I was happy to use my Honeycomb one again. For more Frameworks inspiration, check out these two tutorials of mine: Frameworks Mosaic and Crackled Frameworks.
I did the background in the same way as Tim, using Evergreen Bough paint and Gathered Twigs ink. I also added some stamping, with a new Stampers Anonymous Classics #17 set that I just got. At the top there is a row of three butterflies, with the middle one being right over the reinforcer and hole in the tag. The Honeycomb Framework die cut from grungeboard was painted with Victorian Velvet.
To make the collage paper for some of the honeycomb pieces, I used the smallest prints from French Industrial. I really like the way these pieces turned out, with random bits of paper together on such a small surface. I keep all my leftover Frameworks inside pieces in a little container on my desk and keep reaching for them to add little details to projects.
I also stamped a little dragonfly.
I always enjoy making roses with the Tattered Pinecone die. These were inked with Victorian Velvet and Barn Door. Instead of using the leaves on the Tattered Pinecone, I die cut leaves with the Spring Greenery die, from different patterned papers.
I also made a small flower, by first cutting off a piece of the die cut before assembling the flower. The mirror pieces were adhered with foam tape.
Instead of tying a bow at the bottom of the tag, I used the brand new Tattered Curvy Banners die. The Tattered Banners is one my of my all time favourite dies, and I was happy to get a die with even more banners. It was inked with pink and brown inks.
Thank you for looking!! Have a fun weekend!
Anna-Karin
