It is time for a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and this week our theme is Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I really like sentiments, large and small. During October we are welcoming back Alison Bomber is our guest designer. I hope you will visit her blog and look at what she has created for the challenge.

Layers of ink - Pink Art Journal Page Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

I made an art journal page in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal. This is my favorite art journal and this one is my third or fourth Small Creative Journal. We had a bad week and I wanted a cheerful page with bright flowers.

Paint with Distress Paint.

Coat the page with gesso and when dry, paint with Distress Paint. Mist with water to blend, and wipe some of the paint off.

Mist through Bubbles stencil.

Mist with Shimmer Spray through Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil. I thought the red mist was too strong and wiped it off, creating a cool ghost image.

Stamp with Simon Says Stamp Old Letter and Love Letter.

Stamp and die cut flowers with Simon Says Stamp Happy Day.

Stamp flowers from Simon Says Stamp Happy Day on white cardstock using various Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated inks. White emboss the outline flowers on Shimmer Vellum. Die cut with the coordinating Happy Day dies.

Apply Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink through the Bubble stencil and then dust with Dyamond Dust. Add a little Stardust Stickles here and there.

Stamp a sentiment from Love Letter in one of the postage frames. Stamp the large sentiment stamp from Simon Says Stamp Happy Day. The third sentiment is from Tim Holtz Tiny Text.

Color the center of the large flowers with a brown pencil. Layer the stencils on the page.

If you are making a card, you can easily add shape to the flowers and use foam tape, but since I worked in an art journal, I didn't do that. I prefer to keep my art journaling pages fairly flat.

Stamp flowers on Simon Says Stamp Glimmer Vellum.

White embossing on Simon Says Stamp Shimmer Vellum creates a nice look.

Glitter gel and Dyamond Dust add an interesting extra effect.
