Hello friends! I hope your weekend was a good one. Here we have full summer and the days have been really warm. It's lovely, apart from that I caught the cold that both boys had in last week. We still had a fun weekend with swim and soccer practice and an outing to a nearby town yesterday. It was Mother's Day here yesterday.
This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we are all about circles with our We Are Going Around In Circles theme. Don't miss the last project of our May guest designer Dr Sonia, aka Cards, Crafts, Kids Projects.
As you might know, I love circles, and use them often and for this week I decided to go all out and layer a lot of circles, with a circular card as my base. The card was inspired by Wendy Vecchi's wonderful Circle Collage Background stamp, and everything was coloured with Dina Wakley's Scribble Sticks. I am sorry for not having taken step photos this week, I was both in a hurry and not feeling very well.
The focal point of the card is one of Dina's Scribbly Small Birdies, stamped on watercolor cardstock. Behind the bird, you can see one of her Circle Patterns, stamped on the same cardstock.
The first circle of the card was embossed in Tim Holtz Ringer folder, coated with gesso and then coloured with Scribble Sticks. After using water to turn them into watercolors, I added some more color to the circles. It was stitched to the background. Next layer is a vellum circle embossed in the Tiny Dots folder. On top of that, you'll find the Circle Collage Stamp, also colored with Scribble Sticks.
I also added a number brad and layered some twine underneath the bird.
Finally, I found a scrap piece of Simon Says Stamp Clipping Hearts on my desk and glued that to the card too.
I really hope you will join us in our We Are Going Around In Circles challenge. As every week, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
Don't forget to follow Simon Says Stamp on Instagram, they post great stuff daily.
