Singer Sewing Machine

Hi all! I hope you are enjoying summer (or winter, depending on where you are). Today, I have a card to share made with the new Darkroom Door Sewing Collage stamp, which is such a gorgeous stamp. I really like these old Singer sewing machines. You can use the whole stamp, or just a part of it.

I made a layered card using different materials: paper, fabric, wood veneer and lace trim. The Sewing Collage was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink on cream cardstock and inked with Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, and a bit of Tumbled Glass and Barn Door for the spools. I splattered it with Gathered Twigs ink.

The Sewing stamp works great together with the Measuring Tape Background stamp, which I stamped on wood veneer and layered on top of the folded cardbase. In between the sewing machine and wood veneer there is a piece of Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements fabric. To continue the sewing theme, I stitched the panels together, and also added some lace trim and buttons.

The stamp made me think of all the women in the past, all over the world, who have created useful and beautiful items with these sewing machines and I used a photo from Hats Photobooth, together with a Paris Vol. 2 Wordstrip as my sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!
