Hello everyone! I hope you are well and that you had a good weekend. This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have a Whatever the Weather challenge, which is a fitting theme after more than a week of very cold weather over a large part of Europe.
Since this is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products by a specific designer, and the turn has come to the very creative and always inspiring Tim Holtz. Don't miss the first project by our March guest designer Nox.
I made a journal page this week, inspired by our recent drive back after having visited my family. The whole week had been very chilly and parts of the country had had pretty bad snow conditions, so I was a little nervous about the drive, since I don't particularly enjoy driving in heavy snow, especially not for a longer time. However, we were really lucky and instead had glorious sunny winter weather during almost the entire trip. Snowy landscapes glittering in the sun are really beautiful. It didn't start snowing until we were only 30 minutes from home.
This page was done in my Dina Wakley Media Journal, working on one of the cotton-rag watercolor pages.
I started by inking up Tim's Snowflakes stencil with three blue Distress Inks, misting it with water and pressing it to the page. I repeated it once to cover most of the page.
For my focal point, I used a piece of idea-ology packaging from Tim's latest winter/Christmas collection. The car from the Road Trip set was embossed with Navy embossing powder, and the compass and sentiment with white powder. I also stamped three black arrows on the card and rounded the edges.
The Navy powder has a nice metallic shine to it and picked up the details of the car really great.
I turned the panel into a pocket for my journaling tag, where I told the story of our drive. The tag was embellished with some stamping and a piece of Deco Tape. The top corners were cut with the Angle Corner Chomper, which makes it easy to make custom tags.
I used a mix of stamps on the background, stamped with black ink as well as Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink.
There are also some tire tracks from the Travel Ways set as well as one of my favourite sentiments.

This is a fabulous journal page, Anna-Karin. This reminds me of the days I lived in the mountains of Colorado. There were many days of driving through the snow to get to work. I miss the snow. This is so pretty and your background is amazing!
