Hello everyone! I recently had an evening when I sat down and created without any deadlines, and had such fun doing a couple of scenic stamping pieces in my art journals. I am sharing one of them today.
I love scenic stamping and it is so fun to sit and create a new scene with stamps. I often try to create something that I would like to find myself in, such as walking along this forest path out into an open field. Kevin Nakagawa from Stampscapes came out with new stamps recently and I was very happy to find a stamp of a woman with a stroller. Leo and I go for long walks whenever we get the chance. He loves it, and so do I. The Mossy Trunks are also from the new release and I really like the way they look.
The scene is stamped on glossy cardstock, using mainly Jet Black ink, apart from the grassy areas, which were stamped with green ink. I colored the scene with dye inks, using a Colorbox Stylus Tool with an oval tip. The precision of this tool work great for scenic stamping. Start with the lightest color ink first and gradually build up darker colors. For the finer details, I use a Ranger craft nib with a Craft Nib Holder.
In between the trees, and in the foreground, I stamped pebbles, smaller trees, and grasses. White highlights were added with a gel pen. I also added some mist to the sky and in between the trees, by dry brushing white pigment ink on the scene with a Q-tip.
The forest walk scene found a home in my new Small Dylusions Creative Flip Journal, which has horizontal pages. You can, of course, also flip it, to work vertically instead. I didn't take any step photos of today's scene, but if you want to get an idea, you can check out one of my previous scenic stamping tutorials, such as Train Ride or At the Sea. You can also find a lot of tutorials and videos on the Stampscapes site.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Happy stamping!

Thank you Alison! You should come and join me on that stroll. :)
DeleteThis is so beautiful Anna-Karin. I would love to see a video of your process also the Color Box stylus with the oval tip is something I have had for years but have seldom used. I'd love to see how you used this in your scene. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Teresa! When I typed up my post, I was thinking it would be a good topic for a video, because it might be easier to see the inking in action. I will try to do it soon. If you have a look at the Stampscapes site, there are also a lot of videos there, and in their Youtube channel.
