Hi all! It is Monday again and I hope you had a good weekend. This week we have a Felt challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and the team is showcasing the wonderful Spring Plush collection by Simon Says Stamp. The collection consists of lovely wool felt in many different colours and a lot of very sweet dies.
Felt as a crafting material has been with me since childhood. It is so versatile and comes in wonderful colours. I had a fun project in mind using Spring Plush dies and wool felt, however, my parcel got held up somewhere on the way and didn't make it here in time. I bet it will come today. Instead, I had to improvise a little and I made a quick felt tag. It is easy to die cut felt with wafer thin dies, even with quite detailed dies, such as the words that I used here. Also, if you back felt with paper, it is great for an entire background of a card or a tag.
For the background, felt was glued to manila cardstock and I die cut a tag with Tim Holtz Sizzix Tag & Book Plates die. It is fun mixing felt and other materials, and here I used Sizzix white Paper Leather sheets. The sky was die cut from Paper Leather and the scalloped edge was die cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves die. I painted it with Prima's Classic watercolours and when dry, stamped with one of my favorite stamps the SSS Tiny Alphabet background and Surf Blue ink. The clouds were die cut with the Chevron Clouds die.
If you want to, follow Simon Says Stamp on Instagram, they post great stuff daily.
If you use instagram add #sssmchallenge to your challenge entry uploads, so that we can see them on there too.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Happy crafting!
