Hi everyone! I have a couple of projects that I haven't shared yet, and this card is one of them. It's made with a new collage stamp by
Darkroom Door, called
Dear Daffodils.
I made a card in warm brown tones, with lots of texture. Normally, I would do spring type of cards with Daffodil images and this was a fun change. The flowers were watercoloured with Brusho crystals. The card looks a little crooked here, it is straight in real life. I took a few step photos.
Stamp the
Dear Daffodils on hot press (smooth) watercolour paper, with a waterproof ink. This is a detailed stamp, and it is easier to get a good impression on smooth than on textured paper.
Paint the flowers with clear water and sprinkle on a tiny bit of Yellow Ochre
Brusho Crystals, you only need a few crystals. Spread the paint out with a paint brush. To see the crystals in action, check out t
his video of mine, where I used pretty much the same colours.
Paint the surrounding area with clean water and sprinkle Sandstone and Moss Green Crystals on top. Move the paint around with a paint brush. Again, you need just a few crystals to cover the whole card. Cut the image out.
The card base is folded kraft-core cardstock. I embossed it in one of the Sizzix Plus embossing folders, which are great when you want to cover a larger surface. It is the Happy Texture Textured Impressions Plus folder. The folder has a clever slot into which you can place the card, so that only the front is embossed and it is embossed straight to the edge. Emboss in a
Big Shot Plus machine.
The embossed background. If you don't have a Big Shot Plus machine, you can use any embossing folder and run it through twice to cover the whole card.
Die cut a
Postage Stamp Frame from brown kraft-core cardstock, sand and ink. Also sand and ink the embossed cardstock background.
The Dear Daffodils stamp is such fun to watercolour and I love the script pattern in the background.
Stamp a
sentiment on a
Tattered Curvy Banner and ink the edges. Add a few pearls to the card for a final touch.
Thank you so much for visiting! Have a lovely weekend!
