Life Adventures Layout

Hello and welcome! I have a mixed-media layout to share with you today, using Tim Holtz stamps and Derwent Inktense blocks. Its for a collaborative CSI:Color, Stories, Inspiration and Scrap365 case file.

My layout:

I went with the adventure theme for this layout and created a little scene. From the evidence items in the case file I used: clouds, birds hot-air balloons, dots, labels and string. I painted a background with Inktense blocks, and used a block to splatter some darker blue into the first wash while it was still wet. I left the paper white where I wanted the clouds to be and later I decided to smear on some light molding paste as clouds.

The background was stamped with various stamps. My favourite birds were stamped with Stormy Sky, first misting with water. The alphabet background was stamped with Watering Can. When the clouds were dry, I used Iced Spruce to paint a cloud shadow.

The hot-air balloons were stamped on Specialty Stamping Paper and coloured with Distress Inks (Shabby Shutters, Antique Linen and Old Paper). I added some rub-ons to the background. The chains for the swing on the photo were a little too thin, so I used twine instead.

The arrows and the city were stamped with Iced Spruce, first misting with water. I added some more rub-ons on top.

Thank you for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend!!

Happy crafting!

  6. You have created another wonderful scene. Your layouts are like the illustrations you would find in a childrens book and I am sure that your little boy loves to look at your layouts. Wonderful keepsakes.
