For a Walk Art Journal Page

Hello everyone! We are continuing our Make Your Own Theme January challenge at Craft a Scene. I really enjoyed doing scenic stamping in my art journal earlier this month, so I decided to make another such art journal page.

Working in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal, I started by painting a quick watercolour background. A tissue was used to lift out some paint to create clouds. When the background was dry, I stamped it with Stampscapes pine tree stamps.

To continue with the watercolour look, the stamps were inked with Distress Inks, misted with water about four or five times and then stamped. I used Peeled Paint and Forest Moss for the larger tree, restamping it once without reinking - but I did mist it a few times again before stamping the second impression. The smaller trees were inked with Peeled Paint, misted with water, stamped on scrap paper, misted a couple of times again and then stamped in the journal. I wanted a lighter impression to give a feeling of distance. The birds were stamped in the same way, using Weathered Wood ink.

I really like this sentiment. It was stamped a tiny bit crooked, and it might have looked nicer stamped with Fern Green Archival Ink than with Olive.

I had a piece of watercolour paper on my desk and while I was busy, I made a second version of the scene. There are some cauliflower marks in the sky, but I was okay with that here. On this scene I used Fern Green for the sentiment.

Thank you for looking! There is still plenty of time to join in the challenge.

Happy Stamping!!

Anna-Karin
