This would be great for a quick gift and you can easily change the colours to fit the occasion. The
Clay Pot was die cut from mat board and covered with strips of old book paper, taken from a book about gardening. I used some of the flower sketches in the book too.
The papers were glued down with multi-medium, letting it seep out around some of the edges, where you can see that there are lighter areas. I coloured it with a watered down mix of brown paint and Gold Liquid Pearls, adding some more of the pearls here and there. The multi-medium resists the watered down paint to some extent. The side pieces and insides were painted too and I did the same technique with the book paper on the back of the pot. Since the Scoreboards dies both cuts and scores the mat board it is easy to assemble the pot.
I love the new
Trinity's Flower die, you can make different sized flowers with it and the centre, looking like a quilled roll, is so sweet. I inked the larger petals with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamped with a Stampers Anonymous stamp and Archival French Ultramarine for a tone-on-tone effect. The edges were inked with Gathered Twigs. Two larger flowers were layered on top of each other. The smaller rolled flower was stamped with Gathered Twigs and a script stamp.
The plant marker comes from the
Bloom & Plant Markers die. It was die cut from mat board, inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo and stamped with a butterfly stamp using French Ultramarine ink. I crunched up old book paper to fill the pot.
Thank you for looking!
