12 tags of 2012 November

A big thank you to everyone who commented on my post for the Simon Says Stamp Gratitude blog hop. I was very moved to read all the heartfelt comments and the things people are grateful for. If you missed the blog hop, you can find the beginning here. Winners aren't drawn until 28 November, so there is still time.

Today, I have my version of Tim Holtz's November 12 tags of 2012 to share. I can't believe there is only one more tag left for the year, time flies.

I always enjoy doing the faux-batik technique (I used it recently on this tag), but hadn't combined it with Distress Stains. Fun! I used stamps from Tim's Urban Tapestry set for the heat embossing. I used a slightly different theme for my card, and of course a bird stamp. The background was coloured with Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss stains, and inked with about the same colours, when dry. I also misted my tag lightly with Biscotti Perfect Pearls, for a bit of shine.

The ribbon was dyed with Wild Honey, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge stains. The paper twine looks really cool when you separate the strings.

I used a piece of pretty thick burlap and enjoyed using one of my favourite dies, Autumn Gatherings. Love the look of glossy accents on the acorns.

Thank you for looking! Have a lovely weekend!

Happy Crafting!
