Infusions colorful backgrounds

Hello friends! I hope you had a good weekend! These are our most intense birthday months and there were another two parties this weekend, for friends of my youngest.

This week we have a Bright and Cheerful theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, something that might be extra needed in March, which may be the grayest and muddiest month here, albeit that spring is on the way.

Since this is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products by a specific company/designer and this week it is Paper Artsy. You can find Paper Artsy's great range of stamps, stencil and media here. You don't have to use Paper Artsy's products to join in the challenge, but it is always fun if you do.

We also have a new guest designer and during March Ann Chung will join us. I hope you will check out her blog and the project she has created for the challenge.

I started out making an art journal page, but wanted to add more dimension than what I like to have in my art journals and decided to work on a lose page instead. It will go into one of my scrapbooking albums and I also added a teenage photo booth picture of myself. Lots of bright and cheerful colors and sentiments on this page. The background was done with Paper Artsy Infusions Colored Stains

I made many backgrounds, also for future projects. Mist water on watercolor paper and sprinkle Paper Artsy Infusions on top. I have made a whole in the lid of the bottles. You need very little. Use two or three colors per paper. Mist with more water for blending and leave some areas with less water, for more texture. You can dab the paper with paper towel to remove some of the brown specs before they dissolve. The brown shades are meant to dissolve slower than the other pigments.

Cut into squares and distress the edges. Stitch to watercolor paper with a sewing machine. If your project is a card, just cut smaller squares. Distress the edges of the background paper too.

Paper Artsy Infusions give sometimes unexpected and lovely color combination and textures. This color is Emerald Isle.

I picked out sentiments which would fit into the squares and stamped with Archival Jet Black. This sentiment comes from Stamper's Anonymous Classics #5.

The circles and the dotted border comes from Simon Says Stamp Mix and Match Circles stamp set. Stamp them here and there.

The title was die cut from black cardstock with Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Emporium dies. The background is made with Rocky Road Infusions Colored Stain, which contains many different colors.

Orange County was used for this background. I also added some sequins here and there using Simon Says Stamp Triangle Trays to hold them, Score and Place Wand tool to place them and craft glue to hold them stuck. The stamp comes from Tim's Warehouse District.

The longer sentiment comes from Tim's World Traveler set and was stamped with Jet Black ink on white paper and cut into a strip. The smaller sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Laugh in Flowers.

Play around with Paper Arty's Infusion Colored Stains and see what backgrounds and color combination you can come up with. It is a lot of fun.
