Our Home Artist Trading Cards

Hi stampers! I hope you had a good weekend! We had a couple of beautiful walks and also did a bunch of old puzzles.

This week we have a Love Is in the Air theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us! Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products by a specific designer/company and this week it is Paper Artsy. You can find Paper Arty's wonderful range of products here. You don't have to use their products to join in the challenge, but it is fun if you do.

We also have a new guest joining us during February and it is Laura Cassina. Remember to check out the wonderful project that she has created for you

We love our home and I did two Artist Trading Cards on that theme, using the fun Paper Artsy Zini 53 stamp set. The backgrounds were colored with Paper Artsy Infusions Colored Stains which I really enjoying using. You can make wonderful backgrounds with the Infusions and use them with many different techniques.

I made two master boards with various Infusions Colored Stain: The Sage, Emerald Isle, In the Navy, Golden Sands and Lemoncello. The paper to the left was misted with water before and after applying the Infusions. You only need a tiny bit of powder. The paper to the right was misted mainly after applying the Infusions and I also used even less pigment. Use a paper towel to dabb off some of the pigment.

I picked two areas of the paper with colors that fit the scenes that I wanted to create and cut Artist Trading Cards from them. ATCs are 2.5 x 3.5 in.

Stamp the two houses from Paper Artsy Zini 53. The houses are attached, but I cut the stamp in two to make it easier to stamp individual houses.

I colored the houses with Prismacolor pencils. Shade the houses to add dimension. I also added some shading, grass, a simple hill and a path with a black pen.

The birds were stamped with Simon Says Stamp On The Horizon.

The highlights were added with a white paint pen.

The hearts were stamped with Simon Says Stamp Snow Love, colored with one of the pencils and then coated with Glossy Accents. I also added Glossy Accents to the windows of the houses.

Who wouldn't want to live in this colorful home which also features it's very own windmill. Since my youngest loves windmills, I added him to the scene, stamped with one of the stamps on Simon Says Stamp On The Horizon.

The sun is coming from the side where the background is yellow, which is why the opposite side of the house is in shadow. The sentiments were cut from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment sheets and the edges were sanded to reveal the white core.

Adding shadows and grass with a black pen grounds the house to the background.
