Shine like a star

Hello friends! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. We had a fun visiting friends and spending time outdoors. It is Monday and this week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have a Use Some Lucky Stars theme. Lots of options for this one. You could, for instance, go with a St Patrick's Day theme.

Layers of ink - Shine like a star card by Anna-Karin with stamps by Dina Wakley and Ranger Dye Inks.
I like using stars on my projects, they give an optimistic feeling and have an interesting shape. On this card, I used Dina Wakley's star stamps to fill the background with stars, stamped with different colours of Ranger's Dye Inks. The card would also look great if the stars were all stamped in the same colour. The cardstock is Specialty Stamping Paper, which looks works perfectly together with these vibrant dye inks.

There is a border with three stamps in the Grunge Stars set, and I cut the stamps apart, so that I had three separate stars and could stamp three impression before cleaning the stamps. I love the grunge look of this star and the set has a great variety of stars.

I also added some Tim Holtz idea-ology Mirrored Stars and star Remnant Rubs to the card, so there are four different kinds of stars here. Fun repetition.

Shine was stamped repeatedly on the card, without reinking in between.

I didn't want to cover up the colourful stars too much, so the focal point star was stamped on Clearly For Art Modeling Film and cut out. You could also use acetate. The sentiment was done with Label Letters.

I hope you will join us in our Use Your Lucky Stars challenge. As every week, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.

If you want to, follow Simon Says Stamp on Instagram, they post great stuff daily.
