Hi friends!! I hope you had a good weekend! We went exploring the coast a little yesterday and had a great day. Summer has been cold so far, so the water was pretty chilly, but the scenery was great. It is Monday and we have an letter challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, 'I scream for...'. Be inspired by the letter 'I'.
I recently got a couple of the new Custom Blend DIY Distress Pads and I have so many ideas for these. I am going to have to get some more. I always get a reinker everytime I buy an ink pad, it is a great tip, because you can reink a pad so many times. It will save you money compared to replacing the actual pad. I still have never replaced any of my Distress Ink pads, and I use them a lot, I just reink them whenever necessary. You can also do fun techniques with reinkers and I have an article on one such technique in the August issue of the Craft Stamper.
On my custom pad, I added three stripes of Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade reinkers.
Swipe the lid of the pad on the inked pad. It is so cool that you can do this.
A game wheel was stamped three times with Mermaid Lagoon ink. Next, I used the great Distress Micro Glaze, applying it with my finger over the three game wheels and more partially over the stamped 'artist'. I inked the page with Mermaid Lagoon, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron using an ink-blending tool. The glaze resists the ink. I also splattered the page using the cool large splatter effect of the new Distress Sprayer. When you press the trigger only halfway it creates water droplets. If you press it all the way, you get a fine mist. The glaze also protects whatever is underneath it from water.
Here you can see the effect of the glaze resist on the game wheel better. As you can see the application of the glaze wasn't perfect, and I kind of like it that way. The background was stamped here and there with a date background stamp.
The butterflies were also stamped with my custom inked pad.
Now it is your turn to be inspired by the letter 'I' and remember that one random participant wins a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp.
Thank you for visiting and happy crafting!!
