This layered collage tag was so much fun to make. I luckily had a pack of Thrift Shop Ephemera with me in the suitcase and used it for the background. I also added some hearts to the background, die cut with the new Heartfelt die. They were leftovers from the card I posted yesterday.
I placed a happy couple in the top left corner, to support the love theme of the tag. As you can see the papers were whitewashed quite heavily. The Black Soot marker technique to create a shadow and outline is so cool and very easy too.
Instead of using felt, I used Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements fabric and die cut a bird with the Love You Framelits set that I also used on yesterday's card. I didn't use the coordinating stamp, just the bird die. The die, which works best together with the Magnetic Platform, might not cut through the fabric. Instead I used scissors to cut along the imprint made by the die. A few hearts were also die cut with the Heartfelt die.
I loved Tim's idea of hanging an embellishment with wire from an arrow, but instead of using a heart, I decided to use a gear.
The title was die cut with the Handwritten Love set. On this photo, you can more clearly see all the layers created by the paper, paint, marker and splatters. My Spritzer Tool is in the container (it is one of the things I've been reaching for several times only to remember it is not yet here), so instead I splattered Black Soot paint on the background.
Thank you so much for looking!!
Happy crafting!!
