Winter Stream

Hello stampers! A new month and of course a new challenge theme at Craft a Scene. This month we have a real easy challenge, Trees, trees, trees. I love trees and include them in most of my scenes. This week, I felt it was time to start winter crafting (and I need Christmas cards).

Winter Stream - Layers of ink
The new Stampscapes stamps include some really wonderful snowy stamps. Here I used the Snowy Brook. Love the snow covered stones and the little stream. Behind the stream I stamped trees, using three different pine tree stamps and making them smaller at the point furthest from the eye. Wipe off the lower edge of the trees before stamping, so that it looks like they are standing in, and not on top of, the snow. The scene was stamped with Jet Black ink on glossy cardstock and coloured the normal way with dye inks and a Colorbox Stylus Tool. I used mainly light inks, Aqua, Weather Vane and a little bit of Speckled Egg. At the edges I used a darker grey ink, still wanting to keep the scene pretty light.

Mist was added among the trees and over the stream by dry-brushing white pigment ink on the scene with a Q-tip. I made the branches of the trees snowy with a white gel pen and used the same gel pen to add highlights here and there.

Thank you for looking and I hope you will join us this week!

Happy Stamping!

  1. It is a gorgeous scene Anna-Karin. I like your use of the colors to highlight areas of the scene and the varying height of the trees. NancyD
