CSI case file #96 - The cat that broke

Hello and happy Saturday! Time for another gorgeous CSI:Color, Stories, Inspiration case file, #96 (we are soon at 100!).

When I looked through some photos, I came up on this photo of a cat glass necklace that I got when I was six years old. Since one of the testimony items were 'things', I knew what story I wanted to tell. Just after I got this necklace, which I loved, I wore it to pre-primary school and one of the boys pulled it so that the body broke off from the head. A teacher fixed it, but the body couldn't move anymore and was attached at a crooked angle. I was very upset. I have always been careful with my things, and I don't like it when stuff breaks. Now, I am thinking that I probably wouldn't have remembered this necklace as much as I do, had he not broken it.

From the evidence I used: mesh, gold, typewriter font, typewriter accent, something transaprent and a clock. I recently finally got my Tim Holtz stencils after they spent a considerable amount of time in a postal black hole. So I wanted to use them here. The background is Ranger's Specialty Stamping paper, which is great for inking and stamping. I sponged ink through three different stencils, using Distress Ink Iced Spruce for the burlap texture and Vermillion Archival Ink for the red. I stamped a clock and some other images with Jet Black ink. I got the metal flowers years ago and they made it to my desk last week when I reorganised a bit.

The photo is placed on three tags, one die cut from old book paper, one from white cardstock and a yellow Core'dinations one, which has the journaling typed on it (basically what I wrote above about the story of the necklace). The transparency was a scrap found on my desk, stamped with Stazon Cotton White ink.

I thought the curiosity definition stamp worked well together with a cat layout, even though this cat only broke and didn't die. I die cut a book label and stamped the title with alphabet stamps.

I tried to leave a bit of white space on this layout, something I am not always good at. In the top corner I sponged a little bit of ink through a stencil, stamped a typewriter and part of the curiosity definition stamp.
