Textured Alcohol Ink Background

 Hello friends! It is Monday again and we are back with a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

I went with the alcohol ink theme and made a bright card with a textured alcohol ink background. The sentiment and parts of the flowers were also colored with alcohol inks. The background paper is Yupo, while the sentiment and a part of the flower were die cut from glossy cardstock.

Apply various alcohol inks on Ranger's Yupo paper. Start with larger color areas first and then let the colors blend. Dab lightly to create the smaller spots. I also use alcohol ink blending solusion to make lighter spots.

Die cut Simon Says Stamp Fresh Cut Floral Stem from various scraps of inky or watercolored papers. I used three shades of yellow to orange. The smallest orange part was die cut from glossy cardstock which had been colored with alcohol ink.

Shape the flowers with Tim Holtz Shaping Kit and die cut once more from white paper. Glue together, offsetting the white paper slightly.

Yupo paper is so fun to work on with alcohol inks and the inks end up very bright. The panel was matted on white and yellow cardstock and then on folded turquoise cardstock.

These Fresh Cut Floral Stems are so pretty. I added a pearl to the center of each flower.

The leaves were die cut from a piece of paper where I had tested different shades of watercolor paint. Even the smallest scrap of paper can become an interesting die cut piece.

Simon Says Stamp Simple Hello was die cut from glossy cardstock which had been colored with alcohol ink. The vellum was embossed in the Simon Says Stamp Soft Snowfall folder and the upper edges was torn.
