Christmas Bells Tag Tutorial

Hello stampers! I hope your weekend was good and that you got some crafty time.

This week we have a Holiday Cheer theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Since it is the first Monday of a new month, the team is showcasing products from a specific designer/company and this week it is Tim Holtz. You can find Tim's amazing range of products here. You don't have to use his products to join in the challenge, but it is fun if you do.

We also have a new guest designer and during December is Natasha Vacca. I hope you will stop by her beautiful blog Natasha's Colorful Creations to see what she has created for the challenge.

Layers of ink - Christmas Bells Tag Tutorial by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.

This tag is inspired by a big red bell which my Mom inherited from her Grandmother and displays every Christmas. I have very fond memories of it and was in the mood for a traditional and nostalgic project today.

Start by stamping the bells from Tim Holtz beautiful Department Store stamp set on a tag or a card. Ink with Saltwater Taffy. I also added a little Antique Linen later.

I colored the bells with Distress Watercolor Pencils first (Kitsch Flamingo and Candied Apple), but also wanted the darker red of Lumberjack Plaid and used the Distress Ink for that part since that color doesn't exist as a pencil yet. Hopefully it will!

The ribbon was colored yellow and the berries pink.

I wanted gold on this tag and stamped the music stamp from Department Store here and there on the tag and gold embossed it.

Add darker shades of ink. For even more of a festive feeling, I added Diamond Stickles to the berries and Golden Rod Stickles to the ribbon. (I photographed the wrong gold Stickles bottle in this photo).

I also added some Clippings Stickers and gold Droplets.

I also added some highlights to the bells with a white gel pen.

The sentiment stamp also comes from Department Store and was stamped on a piece of Tim Holtz Christmas Backdrops paper. The candle is a part of the paper. I stamped part of a sentiment from Tiny Text Christmas and added a piece of Backdrops paper underneath.

I hope you will join us this week in our Holiday Cheer challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
