Stacked Labels Teacher's Card

This week with have a Frame It theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I hope you will join us and don't miss the gorgeous frame project by our guest designer Alison Bomber.

It is time to say goodbye to one of the best teachers ever, a teachers who has meant incredibly much to my son. I made her a card with a school theme and had this idea of a stack of vintage labels in different colors. Even the background paper has a school theme and I stamped a library card and made a tiny book. The sentiments are framed by the labels.

Start by smearing Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap on a non-stick craft sheet. Mist with water and press a heavystock paper into the ink.

When the ink is dry, stamp labels with Simon Says Stamp Mixed Labels. I used various inks by Simon Says Stamp: Schoolhouse Red, Cappuccino, Pearfection, Marine and Royal.

Die cut with the coordinating Mixed Labels dies. 

The library record card from Simon Says Stamp Document It was stamped on heavystock paper, inked and lightly misted with water to create the look of old paper. Sorry about the unsharp photo.

The background patterned paper comes from Tim Holtz Backdrops Vol 1 packs and was inked with Stormy Sky Distress Ink to give it more of a blue tone. I used Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue for the mat, and Soft Navy for the cardbase. Layer and overlap labels adding foam tape here and there, some of the pieces have two layers of foam tape.

Stamp the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Because of You on a Tim Holtz Journal Card and place underneath the cut out window of the scalloped label.

Stamp the second sentiment on another label and add a Tim Holtz Memoir ruler underneath.

In Tim Holtz Memoir Ephemera Pack there are small book covers. Fold one of them to create a book with a spine. Tear old dictionary paper for the inside pages, fold and glue to the spine.

Ink the edges and add a Clippings Sticker on the book.

The book opens and can be read.

The word 'teacher' was cut from the Backdrops paper and the other words comes from Tim Holtz Clippings Stickers.
