This week we have an Autumn/Fall Colors mood board challenge for you at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. Design team member Zoey created a gorgeous mood board. I hope you will join us! Don't miss the beautiful project by our October guest designer Lyla aka A Chief’s Wife’s Heart’s A Fire. Here is the lovely mood board.
Nature is so beautiful at this time of the year and I made a card inspired by the orange and cream shades on the mood board, as well as by the bits of rust texture.
I started out with a piece of heavystock paper which had been inked with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap. Ink the stamps from the Simon Says Stamp All Seasons Tree set with brown and orange shades. Mist with water 3-4 times before stamping.
I used the leafy texture stamps from the same set to stamp fallen leaves on the ground and to add some leaves to the trees. For this I used Oxide inks, which are opaque. Shadows under the trees were created by using mainly brown ink for the stamping there.
Simon Says Stamp You Shine was die cut from orange cardstock, left-over inky heavystock and plain heavystock. 'You' was then embossed with several layers of Ranger's Hammered Mixed Media powder.
Watercolor stamping is perfect for autumn projects.
I splattered a little bit with a Scribble Stick and then mounted the panel on a left-over metallic sheet and a cream folded card.
I hope you will join us this week in our Fall/autumn colors challenge. You have a chance to win a $25 gift voucher to do some fun shopping at Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
