Bicycle ATC

Hello friends! I hope your weekend was good. We have a lot of snow here, but it is luckily not too icy and slippery.

This week we have a We're On A Roll theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Think vehicles, circles, cogs, rolls, and more. Don't miss the project by our January guest designer Anita Rao. 

I made an Artist Trading Card this week, which is always a fun size to work with. It was paired up with a cute bicycle and an easy textured background. I almost wish my bike looked like this!

Start with a 2.5 x 3.5 in paper. My paper had already been inked with a mix of Speckled Egg, Antique Linen and Pumice Stone. Smear the inks on a non-stick craft sheet, mist with water and press watercolor paper into the ink.

Ink up the Simon Says Stamp Circle Pattern Background with Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans, mist with water about four times and stamp on the background. It is easier to line up the circles if you place the stamp on a table and press the paper onto the stamp, than the other way around.

Dip a Night Scribble Stick in water and flick a paint brush against it to create splatters. This is a dark blue color. Scribble Sticks are perhaps my favorite way of adding splatters, quick, easy and fairly mess-free.

Die cut the Simon Says Stamp Classic Bicycle from heavystock paper. Use an Emboss It pen to add ink to the areas where you want a specific powder. Melt and then continue with the rest of the areas. Always be very careful when melting embossing powder and never touch the powder until it has cooled down completely.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Slimline Borders and Edges die to cut an old piece of book paper that was on my desk. It grounds the bike to the background. As you can see, the Sea Mixed media powder is here and there on the bike, which was done on purpose.

The number came from the same old book paper and I stamped the sentiment from Thoughtful Flowers on another piece, aiming for a somewhat messy look.

The little heart was die cut with the new Simon Says Stamp Mini Interactive Envelope die set and embossed with red powder. You can find another project using this die set in my Love You and Love You, Too Blog Hop post from yesterday.
