Dwell in Possibility

Hello friends! It's a new beautiful week and a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week we are On the Edge. Fun theme! Think interesting looking edges, altering edges, or something about actually being on the edge of something.

I made a scrapbooking layout this week, with several interpretations of the theme. I hadn't done a partially transparent page for quite some time, something I used to love doing. The piece on top is stamped acetate. There is also a die cut star border, and German scraps borders, which create an edge. The theme of the page is how something so plain as a cardboard box can turn into a chair, a car, a house or maybe an airplane, with just a bit of imagination. During a couple of months, Leo made the face on the top photo, whenever the camera was out. It was his smiley photo-face. He still does it sometimes, but not every time the camera is out. Nowadays, he wants to look at the camera screen instead, where he thinks there will be cars.

I was in a little bit of a hurry and didn't take step photos for this project, unfortunately.  The page started out as watercolor paper, coated with gesso. Then I clear embossed Tim's Slate stamp all over the page. Next, the page was painted with watery Pumice Stone Distress Paint, and I rubbed the paint off from the embossing. The big houses are Dutch Houses by ArtFoamies and were stamped with Dina Wakley paint. 

I applied the paint with a foam brush to the foam stamps. And when the paint was almost dry, I rubbed over it to reveal some of the texture from the embossing. As you can see here on the blue house, I was a little impatient and didn't wait long enough.The small foam stamp houses, as well as the stamped words, come from the Foambinations Home set. Under the houses there is a strip over Prima's Wrought Iron Silver Dresden, looking like a very small fence. 

The background was also stamped with Tim's Curiosity definition stamp, and with stamps from the Noble Gent set.

I stamped the acetate with the Birch stamp, using grey Stazon ink. The Star Cluster On the Edge die was die cut from cardboard and painted slightly with the two green shades used on the houses.

I cut two stars out and used at the bottom of the layout. The Quote Chip was initially inked with Mermaid Lagoon to be used on a previous project. As you can see, it looks nothing like Mermaid Lagoon now, and the reason is that some water was spilled on my desk, without me realizing it, and the chip spent the night soaked, giving it this 'no-color' look.

At the bottom of the page, there is another edge technique, Grit Paste smeared out with a palette knife. The stars were stamped with grey ink and the little flowers are by Prima.

Here you can see that the top part is transparent.
