Hello friends! I hope you had a fun weekend. We enjoyed the lovely spring weather and the fact that it doesn't get dark until late at night. I love looking out my window and still see light in the sky. 

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge we have a Little Critters theme. Don't miss checking out the project of our May guest designer, Dr Sonia, aka Cards, Crafts, Kids Projects.

I was planning a different project first, but when I spotted these beautiful On the Farm stamps by Tim Holtz, they reminded me of walks I used to take while visiting my grandmother, sometimes across fields where cows were grazing. She always made sure we kept a safe distance from the cows, and I think that she had once had a scary experience crossing one of those fields. I thought it was a great adventure. 

The page was done in Dina Wakley's Media Journal, which I am really loving to work in. Here I used one of the canvas pages. 

The page had been partially covered with gesso earlier and I wanted to test how the Scribble Sticks would look on top of it. I scribbled on the page and then used a paint brush and water to turn them into watercolors. I was really happy with the result and I like the combination of the brighter smoother color on the gessoed areas, and the more textured look on the raw canvas.

The page were stamped with the ledger and text stamp from On the Farm, using Red Geranium and Black Soot Archival Ink. I stitched around the page with embroidery floss.

I stamped the animals on Specialty Stamping paper with Black Soot Archival Ink and coloured them with Distress Markers. At the bottom of the page, there is a strip of Eclectic Elements fabric and a piece of lace trim.

The stacking of the animals was inspired by an ornament a friend of mine gave me long ago, and which hang in our kitchen.

Using Distress Markers on these vintage style images worked well. I also stamped a word and placed it above the rooster.

I thought the stacked animals fit so well with this great quote, and stamped it on a manila tag. Design Tape and ephemera embellish the tag. The design tape has the same pattern as the fabric at the bottom of the page.

I used labels to write some memories and also added some more ephemera pieces.
