Winter Window Card

Hello friends! I hope your weekend was a good one. Leo and I went for two pretty long walks, which was fun. He enjoys sitting in his stroller and notice all kinds of interesting things along the way - and stopping at a playground or two.

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we have a Chill Out challenge. It could be anything from winter, to something about relaxing and chilling out.

I made a wintery card this week, using a lovely stamp by Penny Black as my focal point. I ordered this stamp a couple of months ago, but hadn't inked it up yet. This card has a lot of layers, most of which I found on my desk while tidying up - and that made tidying up much more fun too.

The Frosty Day was stamped on Neenah cardstock with Hero Arts Vintage Metallic Ombre ink. To get the look of windows, I embossed it with clear powder. After embossing, I inked the edges and also applied ink to the bars, by using Ranger's Craft Nib.

You might see the effect of the embossing powder a little better on this photo.

Here you can see the layers better: a piece of Sizzix white Paper Leather embossed with dots, a star embossed paper (from yesterday's layout), burlap, text patterned paper and the window. All the edges were distressed and I also took out my sewing machine.

The sentiment was stamped on a Tattered Curvy Banner, and I also added three little Prima flowers. Aren't they cute? The sentiment was stamped with the darkest shade on the Ombre ink pad.

The hearts come from the Simon Says Stamp Clipping Heart die.
