CSI case file #76 - Funny Things

Hello! Sorry for the late posting of my CSI:Color, Stories, Inspiration layout for this week. Here's our case file:

And my layout:

CSI case file 76 - Layers of ink
From the evidence I used: circles, numbers, trees, sun, balloon, calendar accents, And from the testimony, I journaled about a date, in fact a whole month. I have a notebook where I write down funny things my son says, and after picking my photos, I had a look at the month they were taken in and there were quite a few things written down there. I wrote the journaling on two tags behind the left hand photo.

I've been wanting to try Faber-Castell Gelatos for a while now and finally got hold of some. Love them! I used them to paint the sun and some hills and added water for a watercolour effect. The flowers and dots were added on top by smearing molding paste through two different stencils. I also did some stamping of course.

The sun was made with an orange and a yellow Gelato. I stamped a word on top with alphabet stamps and one of my favourite bird stamps. The little bird on the branch were die cut from patterned paper.

The date circle was stamped twice on cream cardstock and cut out. I also used a little date ticket stamp. The blueprint balloon was stamped on cream cardstock and inked with Scattered Straw.

I wanted to mimic the trees on his shirt, and die cut a small tree from the Halloween Shadows die. The leaves are cut with wonderful Susan's Garden Forsythia die (for a tutorial on these flower dies, check out this post of mine). I die cut the leaves from paper that had been inked yellow and orange.

More stamping, a rub-on word and the title (Funny things you say). Some of the funny things in the journaling includes a long story of flying in a white space rocket together with Wall-E and Eve, and many robots. Another one: 'Daddy and I sit at the table, mommy should sit on the carpet and play with the tractor, not with the cars.' It also includes a story about my son's great interest in my inking sponges, which he calls 'chomp', a word he invented himself.

Thank you for the visit!

Happy crafting!
