Bright Blossoms Cards

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing two cards I made with the new Darkroom Door
Bright Blossoms paper products. The flower images are so pretty, bursting with happy colours, and the wordstrip has words that are useful for many different themes. You can find my projects with the coordinating stamp set here.

I made two cards using Bright Blossoms Montage and Photochips.

I was looking at the Window Frame stamp, which I love, and thought it would be fun if you could see lots of different flowers through the window. The frame was stamped with Archival Coffee on white smooth cardstock and I cut out all the windows. It was inked a bit with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs. I trimmed the flowers slightly so that they would fit behind the windows.

For the background, I embossed cream cardstock in a brick folder and added a piece of twine and lace. The card base is Core'dinations Tim Holtz kraft-core cardstock and I used the same cardstock to die cut the little bird that is sitting on the window frame.

There were 12 little windows, but only 9 small flower photos on the Montage sheet. The three left-over windows were backed with pieces of mica and I cut apart one of the Bright Blossoms Wordstrip sentiments and place each word behind a window. The window was attached with foam dots for dimension.

The second card:
For the second card, I used the same Window Frame stamp, but cut away all the small grid windows to make one large window, the perfect size for the Bright Blossom Photochips.

A piece of mica was separated into thin sheets and layered to create a vintage window.

Here you can see the shine from the mica window better. Tim Holtz new Sizzix Pediments die fit perfectly above the window. It was die cut from cream cardstock and inked. I stamped one of the sentiments from Bright Blossoms Vol 1 on it. For the background, I embossed the Stone background with Cement powder and inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs. I used foam dots to attach the window, to give it more dimension. The card base is purple kraft-core cardstock.

Thank you for looking! Enjoy your weekend!

Happy crafting!

Anna-Karin
