12 tags of Christmas 9

This is my ninth ’12 tags of Christmas’. I loved the double embossing technique that Tim shared for this tag. I had only tried that with pigment inks before and hadn’t thought of using my distress inks instead.

I wanted a bright background and stamped the fabric pattern with Tumbled Glass. After embossing, the tag was inked with Festive Berries and then embossed again. Before embossing I removed some of the powder from the edges of the tag. It was then sponged with Vintage Photo do get a distressed effect. I didn’t have the die that Tim used, so instead I used one of the Artful Dwelling houses. The grungboard was painted white on the roof and Juniper on the house. The door was painted with black crackle paint and when dry snow was added with Enamel Accents. The door as attached again at an angle so it is ajar. The house was coated with Glossy Accents and the roof sprinkled with white Flower Soft. The fence was cut from grungeboard, painted white, coated with Rock Candy crackle paint, inked with Pumice Stone and then some Flower Soft was added as snow. A heart was die cut from vellum and stamped repeatedly with the work ‘joy’ and a bigger heart was cut from tulle and placed behind it.
