About me

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Anna-Karin and I have been doing arts and crafts my whole life, but papercrafting is the one that has totally captured my heart and mind. I started making cards in 2002 and can still remember the exact moment when that brilliant idea popped into my head. Since then there has been no stopping me, I had found my home among paper, stamps, ink, paint, dies, photographs and embellishments. Two years later, I also began to scrapbook. I enjoy switching between different projects and sizes: cards, tags, mini-books, art journaling, layouts, and canvases. I also do a lot of 3-D projects and home décor/gift items.

I love trying out new and old techniques, to experiment and try different products and tools. Many of my projects have mixed-media elements. I am always on the lookout for new surfaces to stamp on and die cut and new techniques to test. My hands are ink stained almost daily. I stamp on most of my projects and I like to include little meaningful details. Building scenes, playing with texture and colour are some of my favourite things. It is wonderful to think about everything you can create out of only stamps, paper, ink and die cuts. The possibilities are truly endless and every project is a creative adventure.

I have a PhD in Peace and Development Research from the University of Gothenburg. Recently, I have also taken university courses in topics such as graphic design and graphic tools, social media, illustration, and typography and I am now also happy to offer services within these fields. Please contact me if you are interested to hear more.

I am happy to create for wonderful design teams: Sizzix, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Darkroom Door, Eileen Hull, and The Craft Stamper. Former design teams include Tim Holtz Media TeamCSI:Color, Stories, InspirationCraft a SceneCard Patterns and How Much is Too Much.

You can find an interview with me here on Mixed Media May.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Happy crafting!

Anna-Karin
