Singing in the Rain

Hello friends! It is Monday and of course a new Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge. This week we are inspired by a song.

Layers of ink - Singing in the Rain art journal page by Anna-Karin
I felt like doing a happy page in my square art journal and paired up Tim Holtz Umbrella Man stamp with Singin' in the rain. The blue dots had already been stenciled on this page, using left-over paint from when I made my Frozen Deer canvas tutorial in December. Since it looked a little like rain, I decided to work on this page.

The Umbrella Man was stamped with Jet Black ink and so was the sentiment next to him. I felt that the page needed another colour and more of a background, so I stenciled bricks using Squeezed Orange Dylusions paint.

I gave him a road to stand on by stamping a number stamp with Watering Can ink, adding some tissue tape and also a bit of messy pen work.

The title was stamped with a mix of grey and black, using Worn Letters and Hero Arts Printer's Lowercase. A few of the bricks were given a black border.

Isn't this a great sentiment, and I love the typewriter font used here.

The background was also stamped with a number stamp and Manganese Blue Archival Ink, and with my favourite flying bird stamp. I used the Distress Spritzer and a Black Soot marker to add even more rain, and texture.

The birds on a wire overlook the whole scene. Finally, I added some tissue tape, it is such a great final addition to art journal pages, and completely flat, so it doesn't add any bulk.
