Wonderful Watercolour Notebook

Hello everyone! It is Monday again, and we have a Wonderful Watercolour challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. As you might know, watercolours is one of my favourite mediums, and I thought I'd make a little video for today.

I like to have a little notebook and some pencils with me wherever we go, if I need to jot something down, but also to do some sketching if there is a moment over. You can find another one of them in this post. The Brusho Crystals are so much fun and I used them to make this cover. You really need to see them in action, which is why I've been wanting to make a little video about them. For my cover, I used the very cool Watercolor Canvas by Fredrix. The book measures 5.5 x 6.5 in.

This is quite a quick video. When editing, I realised I was pronouncing 'Brusho' a little weird, oops, maybe it was because I was hurrying to get the recording done before Leo woke up from his nap.

The cover was white embossed with the Tiny Alphabet Background stamp by Simon Says Stamp. The embossing resisted the paint. When the paint was dry, I ironed off the embossing powder by placing the canvas between two printer papers. You need to change the top paper frequently since the powder gets stuck on it. This makes it easier to continue stamping on top of the covers.

The letters were die cut with Tim Holtz new Billboard Alphabet die. Part of the title was stamped and I the leaves were stamped with the Simon Says Stamp One With Nature set.

Here's a close-up of the interesting texture produced by the Brusho Crystals on the canvas.

The notebook is very simple. I made four signatures and stitched them to the cover.

Here you can see the stitching.

Here are some of the backgrounds that I showed in the video.

The back cover looks like this, with more stamping. I just love the look of all that yummy colour. The Brusho Crystals come in a lot of colours, so you can make the background in any colour that you'd like.

I placed my initials on the back cover. The little note stamp comes from the Simon Says Stamp Butterflies set.

Some more stamping. I also stitched a Linen Ribbon to the cover.

I hope you enjoyed this project!
