Birds of the sky

Sorry about the quiet blog week, I have been working on a bunch of project I can't show quite yet (soon though!). Here's my last World-Wide Stamping Week card, made for Jan's Hangover challenge to stamp a background with small stamps, not use any printed paper and to cut the image so that it extends beyond the mat. Such a fun challenge!

I used a pretty bird stamp which was a RAK from Jan. It was stamped with Archival Ink Coffee on Specialty Stamping Paper (matte coated paper) and coloured with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Shabby Shatters, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo). I cut the mat and the bird so that quite a large part of the bird extends beyond the mat. Behind it I added a white paper which was inked green (Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint) and stamped with a grass stamp.

The background was made on manila cardstock, which was pressed into Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky distress inks, smeared on my craft sheet and misted with water and Perfect Pearls. The little bird was stamped repeatedly with Stormy Sky, and a swirl stamp was stamped with Frayed Burlap. The blue piece is a leftover piece of canvas coloured with Distress Stains. It was stamped with music notes using Coffee ink.

Thank you for looking!
